Yoast has got a lot of love due partly to its popularity among WordPress users. It's also one of the most installed SEO plugins. But Rank Math is increasingly favored for its user-friendly approach.

Rank Math is a Search Engine Optimization plugin for WordPress that makes it easy for anyone to optimize their content with built-in suggestions based on widely-accepted best practices. You can easily customize important SEO settings, control which pages are indexable, and manage how your website appears in search results with Structured data.

Rank Math is particularly valued for its simplicity. It handles the technical SEO work automatically. After initial configuration, you simply follow the recommendations provided for each page and article on your website.

How To Install Rank Math SEO Plugin

Rank Math is free to use. You can download it from the plugin page of your WordPress dashboard or visit their website to download the zip file for manual upload.

Once installed, Rank Math automatically launches a setup wizard. While you can dismiss it, completing setup immediately is recommended.

You'll see your index status, crawl status, and any issues Google encounters. The Search Console provides the most accurate keyword ranking data, sourced directly from Google.

Setting up Google Search Console with Rank Math involves three steps:

1. Ensure your website is added to Search Console
2. Authenticate Rank Math to connect with Search Console (register at https://search.google.com/search-console/about)
3. Choose the correct property for Rank Math to fetch data from

Once your Search Console account is established, tap "Get Authentication Code," then select which website to connect to Rank Math. After completing this step, you're essentially finished with the core setup. Additional advanced configurations can be addressed later.
